MAGSWITCH PLAY 70X4 2.0
Article number: 81401520

The Magswitch 70x4 2.0 LAY series magnetic grippers for robot automation utilize linearly arranged magnets to increase the depth and footprint of the magnetic field. The larger footprint of the array magnets ensures stability with large end effectors and workpieces. The ability to add custom pole pieces allows the LAY magnets to be used with a wide variety of part profiles. The LAY 2.0 tools are strong, robust, and a perfect material handling solution for handling pipes, hoses, and steel plates.

* Maximum breakaway determined in a laboratory setting on 2-inch thick SAE1018 steel with a surface roughness of 63 microinches. Many factors contribute to the actual breakaway force in any application. Always test the magnetic switch in each application before deployment. See the Magswitch Information Booklet for more information.

  • SWL (Safe Working Load) = Maximum force 5 / Safety force (≥5)
  • 1 Determined in a laboratory environment on 2-inch thick SAE1018 steel with a surface roughness of 63 microinches and optimized pole shoes. Many factors contribute to the actual pull-out force and safe working load in any application. Consult a Magswitch application engineer and test the Magswitch in any application before deployment.
  • 2 All data applies to devices with installed flat bar shoes.
  • 3. Designed with SAE1018 steel, L = 200 mm, B = 200 mm.
  • 4 The values may vary by +/- 5%.
  • 5. The maximum forces listed above are not safe lifting forces. The designer must consider the safety factor when specifying the tool. Magswitch recommends a safety factor (SWL) of 5:1 for most applications.
